Description:
Designed for inline cutting of Panel Core materials. This machine is capable of straight cuts or a variety of standard cut types, including rebate cuts and Roof panel cut backs. Three fully programmable Customer cut types are also available. Entry of the various cut types as well as machine control and manual operation are via a 150mm colour touch screen (HMI). The cutting principle is similar to a bandsaw, however a 1.5mm round abrasive wire is used allowing cutting in any direction. PLC Controlled Ballscrews and linear bearings are used for the X and Y axis Motion.
Principle of operation:
When the mechanical or optical sensor “finds” the skin cut in the panel from a previous silent cutter or saw unit, the main carriage clamps onto the panel and travels with it while the core cut operation is carried out. A further locating finger then accurately locates the skin cut. The X axis traverses until the wire is directly over the skin cut. The wire then enters the panel and the selected cut type is performed. Special joint separation clamps open the cut to allow snag free exit of the wire from the panel. Upon completion of the cut a return motor drives the carriage to the home position ready for the next panel cut.
